She holds a bachelor's degree in business information systems from Tennessee State University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in management information systems from the University of Mississippi. She holds a Six Sigma Black Belt that was achieved at Caterpillar, Inc.
She was an accomplished professor before retiring at age 41 with over 40 peer-reviewed scholarly works. When she received tenure in 2017, she was one of only 51 female African-American Information Systems business school professors in the U.S. She's overcome many obstacles, from childhood trauma to divorce.
But she's not from a "wealthy" family. She bounced around schools, lived with and was raised by multiple family members, and felt hopeless as a child. But she had to shift her mindset and develop grit and hustle to get there. But when she learned that financial freedom could be as simple as turning from saving to investing, everything changed. Dr. Kisha served as the inaugural university chair of the Faculty Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Committee at Belmont University. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Faculty Member of The Ph.D. The project and the Honor Societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma International.
