 She's a first-generation college student. She holds a bachelor's degree in business information systems from Tennessee State University, an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in management information systems from the University of Mississippi. She holds a Six Sigma Black Belt that was achieved at Caterpillar, Inc.

 She was an accomplished professor before retiring at age 41 with over 40 peer-reviewed scholarly works. When she received tenure in 2017, she was one of only 51 female African-American Information Systems business school professors in the U.S. She's overcome many obstacles, from childhood trauma to divorce.

But she's not from a "wealthy" family. She bounced around schools, lived with and was raised by multiple family members, and felt hopeless as a child. But she had to shift her mindset and develop grit and hustle to get there. But when she learned that financial freedom could be as simple as turning from saving to investing, everything changed. In her money courses, Dr. Kisha teaches you how to create your financial security through budgeting, debt payoff, investing, and eventually, financial independence.

 Dr. Kisha served as the inaugural university chair of the Faculty Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Committee at Belmont University. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Faculty Member of The Ph.D. The project and the Honor Societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma International.

 She also has a passion for mentoring and helping girls through her Period Project work under the non-profit she founded, The Achiever Academy. The Achiever Academy has facilitated the donation of over half a million-period products in middle Tennessee since 2018.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, the fourth of ten children. Yvonne's oldest daughter Gloria was abducted, raped, and murdered in 1984. Since her daughter's death, Yvonne has worked tirelessly towards safer communities in and out of the City of Cleveland. She is often called upon to give words of consolation to individuals and families victimized by violence. She is convinced the problems of drugs and gang violence will not just go away. Dr. Pointer helped to found the Gloria Pointer School in Atonkwa Village in Ghana. She has numerous awards and recognition for her work locally and internationally. The owner of VIP Smiles is Dr. Johnson. After graduating from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry at the top of her class, she started VIP Smiles in 2008. Aiming to provide great dental care to patients throughout the Maple Heights area, Dr. Johnson has successfully made VIP Smiles a staple in the community. She volunteers every week at the local schools to bring awareness to children about keeping healthy smiles. In addition to that, Dr. Johnson also teaches at her alma mater Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry.
